Live-near-your-work (LNYW) programs provide financial incentives that encourage people to live near their workplaces. The intention is to reduce traffic congestion and vehicle miles travelled, thus generating environmental benefits such as reduced air and water quality impacts. Incentives can include rent subsidies and special loans or grants to purchase homes.
